Adirondack Bible Chapel is shepherded by Senior Pastor Ed Hart.  In addition to the elders and deacons, we view every believing member of the church body as fully equipped to minister the gospel to others, thus our church body serves as the ministry staff.  The apostle Paul advocated this idea when he wrote:

“I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness,
complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.”
~ Romans 15:14

The church is the body of Christ (Rom.12:4-5). As God’s people (1 Pet. 2:9) we are called to love and serve one another in word and with action and truth (1 Jn.3) ministering Gods grace in its various forms (1 Pet. 4:8-11) to the glory of the Lord (1 Cor. 10:31).

Deacons are men full of the spirit and wisdom who are called to serve the body of Christ.  They are ministers of mercy who fulfill the qualifications of 1 Tim. 3:8-13 with a special care for those in need (Acts 6:1-6).

Elders are the shepherds or pastors of the local church. They are God fearing men who fulfill the qualifications of 1Tim.3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1Pet.5:1-7 and Acts 20:28. Elder’s responsibilities include financial oversight, doctrinal integrity and overall spiritual health and direction for the church.
