The counsel you will receive is biblical counsel with the life goal of pleasing and glorifying God (2 Cor. 5:9; 1 Cor. 10:31). The counseling is based on such passages as Rom. 15:14; Col. 1:28; 1 Thes. 5:14 and 2 Tim. 3:16-17). These Scriptures, as well as others, speak of counseling as teaching, instructing, rebuking, correcting, admonishing, encouraging and training with a view to Christ-likeness or sanctification.

Adirondack Bible Chapel believes that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness in His Word (2 Pet. 1:3). It is God’s Word that pierces to the very depths of our being (Heb. 4:12) and can perfectly revive our souls and give us the wisdom we need (Ps. 19:7-11). Other helpful books and resources that align themselves with the Word of God, may be utilized.

Counseling and discipleship go hand in hand. Counseling is intensive discipleship by God’s people with a goal of restoring believers to usefullness in the church (Gal. 6:1-3). Our desire is to point others to Jesus Christ through His sufficient word in the context of a loving, local church (1 Peter 4:7-11).
